Random acts of kindness for students

Imagine a world where you can succeed by being nice – it all starts with an act! Random Acts of Kindness Day (annually on 17 February) is a day to celebrate generally being nice!

A random act of kindness is an action designed to offer kindness towards the outside world, it’s that unexpected act of charity or helpfulness which can be done for friends and family but often is done for a stranger.

But kindness shouldn’t just be confined to a day – if you need some ideas then take a look at our top 10 below;

• Give an unexpected compliment
• Give someone your seat on a crowded bus

• Let someone go in front of you in a queue
• Pick up some litter in the street and throw it in the bin

• Take the time to write a review for a place you love (don’t forget our competition!)
• Smile at someone who looks sad

• Give blood and / or become an organ donor
• Hold the door open for someone

• Send a message to a friend letting them know you appreciate them
• Don’t forget yourself! Spend a few hours reading, or make time for another activity you love. Being kind to yourself will give you the energy and strength to be kind to others!
